The Outlook of a Sunny Optimist

My Mum told me I was a ‘sunny’ child and I know I have always been temperamentally an optimist. Even when things were difficult.

During the 2020 lockdown, I decided my well-being would be beautifully served by finding ways to connect with my family and friends. AND I wanted to be with people who prefer to be optimistic in the face of profound challenges in our world. Not to ignore, or forget or dismiss but to relate, to experiment, and to be kind.

I turned 70 this year, and I continue to pay attention to what is happening, seek to discern what I see as the truth, and find ways to integrate my understanding into living my life well. I am eternally curious and I love to stretch myself ( Last year I went surfing for the first time - loved it!)

I love reading, listening to music, attending online summits, hosting Zoom calls, looking after the grandkids, being out in nature, learning from other generations, and helping others to stay well and optimistic. I am particularly interested in the wisdom of elderhood.

So this journal captures my musings, shares snippets from the wisdom that I come across, and invites people to join in the sandpit with me. My purpose for the newsletter is to gather beauty into posts that make people smile. To help us all to breathe into the present moment, to know that all is well and that it is ok to feel optimistic. In fact, our well-being depends on this.
